Pretzel is a 4 1/2 year old purebred Golden Retriever born in May of 2022. He weighs approximately 75 pounds but thinks he weighs 15 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on all required vaccines to date, house-trained, and heart-worm negative. He loves toys and will let you take them from him, and he is crate trained.

His owner has this to say about him:

Pretzel likes: Pretzel loves to be loved on by adults. He loves to be petted and accompany me around everywhere. He loves car rides and having his head out the window. He adores chasing tennis balls, Frisbees, anything that can be chased and brought back. He is very excited and barks until he is a little tired then drops the ball easily for another throw. Pretzel loves to swim and would spend all day in water if he could. He loves to chew on sticks and collect things into a pile.

He loves any and all treats or food that lands on the floor. He is a great vacuum cleaner after dinner and meals. He loves to be outside and explore, although it can be a challenge with other dogs and people on a hiking trail. He is responsive to his electronic collar (only ever use the vibrate feature) and will settle down as people and dogs pass by sometimes. He loves to sniff cats and does not chase chickens, ducks or other animals when at our family farm. He loves to snuggle with us on the couch after the kids are in bed and will take any and all love from anyone over chest high to an adult. He gets very excited when visitors come over and will saturate them with kisses and his fur. He loves to sit and put his paws in your lap. He will hold your arm while you pet him.

Pretzel doesn't like: Pretzel does not like children, especially small children. They make him extremely uncomfortable and cause him a great deal of anxiety and he will react.  He also does not like male dogs of any size or age. He can be controlled around other dogs, however, while only on a leash. He may tolerate a female dog who is his size or slightly smaller. He does like cats.

Other good qualities: Pretzel needs a high energy outlet every day meaning fetch for at least 20-30 min given the proper temperature, walking, running, swimming, or mentally challenging obedience training. Pretzel has been duck hunting, although not fully trained he loves to sit, wait and retrieve ducks.

Pretzel needs an active home as he is not a couch potato. He needs an owner who can spend time with him daily and give him the attention he deserves.
He needs pets and affection, he will always act love starved no matter how many pets he gets. Pretzel is a very loving dog who deserves an environment and home where he is free to be himself and not constantly around tiny humans.
