Gryffin is a purebred Golden Retriever who was surrendered by his owners. He is 2 ½ yrs. old and about 76 lbs., up to date on all his shots, is heart-worm negative and neutered.
Gryffin rides well in a car, in a crate and he appears to be fine w/o the crate. He loves car rides and happily jumps in the car. He is housebroken, and was allowed to sleep on the couch. He sleeps in a crate at night. Gryffin was bell trained to go outside for potty breaks, but no longer needs the bell as he will sit by the door to go out and nudges the handle with his nose.
Gryffin has never been to a dog park, but has been to doggie day care.
Gryffin loves his red leash so we will make sure his new family gets it. If he gets away from you, just show him his red leash and he will come back. He does pull on a leash… so he will need training to help with that. The previous owners said he knows these commands: lay down, roll over, off, up, and shake/say hi. Gryffin likes to play fetch, go for walks, peanut butter, chew toys, and does commands for treats.
Gryffin has typical puppy tendencies; which is chewing things, chasing anything that moves, barks when people come over and lacks recall unless you show him his red leash. Unfortunately, we wasn’t socialized so we don’t know if he likes other dogs and it would be if there are no cats around.
No kids under 10 years old and a fenced yard is best for him. Gryffin is a work in progress and in the right home we think he will be a wonderful companion.
