Dixie Lee is a Golden Retriever, who is about 3 yrs. old; 54 lbs., up-to-date on all her vaccines, spayed, and micro-chipped. Dixie Lee was successfully treated for heart-worms which is why you see a patch of fur missing on her back. She does have to keep her activity level down for just a bit longer; which is a challenge as she is an active, happy girl. She just must have patience for a few weeks more.
Dixie Lee was found on the road in Louisiana and a trucker stopped and rescued her. From her condition, we believe she was used for breeding and then tossed out or escaped – not sure which. Dixie Lee is a a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. She is a confident soul and a very sweet girl, who is learning what it is like to be a real dog and loved. In fact, she loves attention and gives the sweetest kisses.
Dixie Lee rides well in a car, is house trained and is crate trained. We don’t know what she thinks of cats. With proper introductions, she should be good with other dogs. She loves sticks and toys and is used to being groomed. She is learning leash manners and other important lessons so that will need to be continued.
Dixie Lee is an active girl, so an active family, with a fenced in yard, would be ideal for her; and if there is a fur sibling, we think she would love that as well.
Her Adoption fee is $350.00
