Ava Jane is approximately a one year old healthy female, Golden Retriever mix. She is approximately 26lbs., spayed, up to date on all vaccines and is heart-worm negative. Although we don’t know what she is mixed with but based on her current size and age, we think she will most likely will not get much bigger. Ava Jane was released to us by her owner as she had way too much energy and the owner did not have time to work with her. She had a haircut so her longer hair and feathers have to grow back.
She loves to ride in cars and is calm in the car (we had her crated). Ava Jane is house trained but we don’t know her signs that says she wants to go outside. She needs a lot of work on the leash. It would be best if she had a harness, as she may back out of her collar. Ava Jane is a people dog, but she hasn’t had training and doesn’t know how to calmly behave. She is used to being groomed, used to being walked, crate trained (somewhat) and knows sit and off. She has a mild form of separation anxiety. She is a very smart girl and loves doggie puzzles, especially doggie puzzles with food. She loves to be cuddled.
Ava Jane is currently at one of our boarding facilities. She loves playing with any dogs, but she might be a little too enthusiastic with smaller dogs.
Ava Jane is very energetic and would do best in a home with a younger couple with no kids, or at least kids older than 10 years old that are experienced with dogs. Ava Jane is overly enthusiastic and may overwhelm smaller and/or timid children.
