We help Golden Retrievers/Golden Mixes throughout East Tennessee and surrounding states.
TVGRR will consider each Golden surrender on a case-by-case basis. TVGRR has the right to refuse intake of any Golden surrender.
After each Golden Retriever/Golden Mix enters our program they are brought up-to-date on vetting, spayed or neutered, we place them in a foster home, if available, for evaluation. Our adoption committee works hard to screen and place these Goldens with their new forever family.
TVGRR is an all-volunteer group, with no paid board members or staff. We rely on your donations to help as many Golden Retrievers/Golden Mixes as possible find their new homes. For this reason, we ask that your Golden surrender be current on all vaccinations, tested for heartworms and fecal worms and spayed or neutered. If you are not able to have this completed, you may make a tax-deductible donation to offset some of the expense of these items.
Please know TVGRR has never refused a Golden Retriever/Golden Mix surrender based solely on an inability of the owner to have them vetted or provide a donation to TVGRR. If you find yourself unable to donate at this time, maybe you can help in the future or join us in volunteering.
TVGRR knows surrendering your Golden Retriever/Golden Mix, for whatever reason, can be difficult. Our volunteers work hard to find each surrender the best match in their new forever home. All of our applicants fill out an application, have a vet background check, and a home visit before the adoption can take place. If the adoption does not work, for any reason, the adopter agrees in a written contract, to return the Golden to TVGRR.
TVGRR has a surrender procedure. It starts by sending us at least three pictures of your Golden surrender. One of the Golden’s head, one of the entire body (including the tail) and a standing side picture of the Golden. Your pictures may be emailed along with a brief biography to
[email protected] for consideration.
We will contact you and email you an Owner Release Form. We want to know as much as possible about your Golden, so we find the best foster home and permanent home for them. Answer each question as honestly as possible.
Please elaborate on the Golden’s behavior, their likes/dislikes, temperament, food or toy issues, compatibility with other animals and children. Knowing all about your Golden makes our job easier and placement faster. In addition, please have current vetting records available or the name of the last vet seen.
Please remember, we are an all volunteer rescue. We will be in touch as soon as possible. Thank you for selecting rescue.
