Get Involved

There are many ways to the help the Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue and support a Golden in need .

We are always in need of foster homes for our Goldens awaiting adoption to their forever homes.
TVGRR covers all medical expenses and provides monthly heartworm and flea preventative for the dogs in our foster program.

We do ask that the foster families bring their foster Golden to Adopt-a-thons whenever possible. Adopt-a-thons are held twice per month, from 10a.m. - 1p.m. The 1st Saturday of each month, the Adopt-a-thon is hosted at Agrifeed Pet Supply on Middlebrook Pike, and on the 3rd Saturday of each month, the Adopt-a-thon is hosted at the PetSmart on Morrell Road (by West Town Mall).

Because foster families get to know the personality of the dog so well, we also ask that they speak with potential adopters, usually via phone or email, to help gauge if the home would be a good fit for that Golden. Your opinion weighs a great deal on the final decision.

Fostering is a truly rewarding experience! While it can be hard to say goodbye when your foster dog has found their forever home, it's well worth it (and it does get easier!).

If you're interested in fostering, please fill out the
adoption application (no need to pay the application fee if fostering). Once you fill out the application, we'll stop by for a home visit and then connect you with the adoption and fostering coordinators to determine which available Golden would be the best fit for your home.

Whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours, we and the Golden's can use your help! Some areas we need help with are:

  Paw Print Application Coordinator
  Paw Print Transportation
Paw Print Dog Walker (for those in boarding facilities)
  Paw Print Event Coordinator
  Paw Print Event Helper

TVGRR wants to help as many Goldens and Golden Mixes in need as possible and one way to ensure we can is by you becoming a supporter through membership or your donations. Every dollar goes 'to the dogs' to meet their needs from nose to tail. Costs are high and it is because of people like you and our Service Supporters (veterinarians, boarding facilities and others) who offer their services at a reduced rate, we are able to continue to help our Goldens.
